I have an LMT 14.5" upper on a bushmaster lower. LMT is the tits! Everything is solid and functions flawlessly. It is very well machined and finished. To my knowledge, everything is MilSpec. LMT is pricey, but IMO it is worth it! I only wish I had an LMT lower because it would have saved me the trouble of having to replace my bushy lower's buffer tube with a milspec so I could attach my LMT SOPMOD stock! Their quality is arguably just as good as any Colt I've seen.

I currently own 2 LMT Defender 2000 lowers, one with a LMT MRP upper and one with a LMT M4 upper. I had to buy the uppers and lowers seperately.
The machine work is top notch, the colors match and they fit together very well. They both shoot MOA or better and I have never had any problems with them. I think they are just as good as the ABC rifles, and would have no problems buying another one. |

I'd rate an LMT at the top right now. Every one I've come in contact with has been absolutely flawless, and the MRP uppers are the shit!!!

I have a complete LMT M4 upper which is 100% , and as good as any stock M4 upper
LMT is a fairly small manufacturers of AR 15 rifles, but considered top-tier. They are even in use by our very own Navy SEALs (uppers).  I realize many makers claim to have product in use by our Special Forces, but this time its true. Not only SEAL Teams, but other professional security, and contractor shooters choose LMT. They aren't cheap, but then again, they aren't cheap. |

Its funny when these threads come up.
Poeple jump all over Colt for not supoorting civilian shooters because they wont sell their police line of rifles to civilians. Yet LMT wont either and no one seems to care. |

LMT sells fully assembled uppers and lowers to the public.
Back to the topic, the ones I've seen are fine, but the receivers looked a little more "rough" than CMT products. I don't see that as a big deal as their function has been fine with what I've seen. |

Check out the EE: I bought my LMT lower from Pete @ Legal Transfers, and I think he sells uppers as well. Paul @ BravoCompany, Grant @ G and R Tactical sell uppers. This is just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others. |

Teknic at www.rainierarms.com currently has the assembled LMT lowers for $330, and they come with a Tango Down Battlegrip. I've been kicking around the idea of picking one up for myself.....

For a little over $100 more you can pick one up with the SOPMOD stock. I really like mine, good stuff.

I have one complete LMT Defender 2000 w/ SOPMOD and one LMT lower w/ LMT NM Trigger. Both run great, no stoppages yet.

I own two complete LMT carbines: a 16” M4 and a 10.5” SBR.
Both have proven to be 100% reliable so far and fit and finish is better than most. I’m please with the LMT stuff that I have and would recommend them as well as buy more when the wallet allows. |

I also own two LMT carbines. One complete 14.5" M4 and one LMT/Noveske 10.5". Both have performed absolutely perfectly. I'm not really worried about finish, but both of mine looked outstanding when they came out of the box. Both have attended relatively high round count classes with zero issues. I have another LMT complete lower on order right now. Since my experiences with LMT has been so positive, I see no reason to buy any other brand. I’m also lucky to have an LMT dealer just twenty minutes up the road (G&R Tactical), and a great relationship with another LMT dealer (Talon Arms). I'm sure this is another reason why I buy LMT.

I'm a satisfied owner of a LMT Defender 2000 with 16" barrel.
My LMT is as good as my Colt 6721 A3 tactical carbine but my LMT's upper to lower fit is better than my Colt. My LMT receivers fit just right, not tight or not loose. Mine functions fine no FTF so far, I'm using a LMT M16 BCG with Wolff extra power extractor spring. Denny's Global Tactical Supply at the EE or their own website at www.globaltactical.com also sells LMT uppers and lowers. I'm planning to get another one later on. My LMT's pic link |

Correct, they don't want to do the excise tax paperwork... and they are a real PITA about it. LMT makes good uppers and lowers. I have a couple and we have sold about 5 down at the shop. No complaints. |

I absolutely love my LMT rifle. It was a little more than a RRA and bushy, but less than a Colt, and the quality is awesome. Heres a dirty pic of her after I got it. I didnt clean it before I snapped the pics. I figured this thread needs some porn! hug.gif

I have an LMT 14.5 upper with a Lauer/LMT lower.
My first upper had a problem in that when you released the bolt catch, it would not strip a round from the magazine and chamber it. The tip of the round seemed to catch on the feed ramp. It functioned just fine when shooting however. I sent it back to the vendor who could produce the same problem with it. He sent it back to LMT. They sent my a new upper (I think) and bolt group and it's smooth as butter. I only have about 60 rounds through the new upper, but not a single function issue yet. I doubt that I will because everything "just works," but time will tell. |

I have a complete LMT rifle, & mine did the same thing - turns out the gas key was a bit crooked.
Of course, as mine was one of the very first 14.5" uppers sold to the public so I didn't fret much at all. Loosened, straightened, & re-staked it & it's been problem-free for many, many, many, many rounds. I'd bet my life on it. |

If you order a lower from them, tell them you want the SPOMOD, it only costs a bit more... Actually the bump up, in dealer price terms, is $78

I bought one, and sold it soon after. Had problems with it.
Short stroke. Broken bolt catch with only 7 rounds through it. Failures to feed. |

I've gone back and forth repeatedly on whether or not I want an LMT lower (I know you're asking about complete carbines). I finally have the money to get a lower for my Sabre Defence upper. It will be my first AR15 when I finish it, and I'm relying completely on reviews I come across here at AR15 as to what is what. I've seen positive and negative remarks and reviews on LMT and I honestly have no idea what to expect from them. So I've decided to bypass LMT and get a Noveske lower once they're back in stock (which according to an email reply they sent me shouldn't be much longer). Noveske lowers are made by CMT and CMT gets consistently good reviews here. I'm not advising you one way or the other. I'm telling you what I've decided. Check the archives for more info and opinions.

GL, the forged lower receiver is pretty much universal and in my opinion matters only to re-sale values. (notwithstanding special triggers.)
When attached to a complete rifle, LMT will bring a higher number than will Noveske, but not much. If its your 1st AR15, I'd suggest you get one complete (assembled) as that will ensure you are making the most of your purchase. |

On the fully assembled lower: that's what I'm going to do - put in a couple pins to join it to the Sabre Defence upper, top that off with an LMT BUIS, buy some mags, and call it done.

Re: LE or Civilian: unless the LEs are select fire, bayonet lugs, or whtevr, how do they differ, aside that in 'some' states Civilians can't buy them at all?
