What's the general consensus on the above-mentioned? The only thing that I can see that it adds in improved extraction. I am using a Colt bolt with a D-fender ring to help compensate for extraction. Also, noticed that LMT bolt has relief cuts to help remove crud out of the bolt chamber area. I can own 3 Colt bolts for the price of the of the LMT enhanced bolt ($150).

Also, saw a few days back that Leitner Wise came out with there own called Advanced Combat Bolt. It appears to have some of the same features as the LMT, but again, the price is pretty high for this product.

Give me your thoughts and recommendations. BTW, I have not experienced any problems with my bolt so I guess I could rely on the ol' saying "if it ain't broken....".

In my experience LMT "Enhanced" bolts are a very hit or miss product. Some guys love them and some cannot get them to run reliably. I think they are very upper & ammo sensitive. This is why I stick to standard bolt/bolt carriers/HD extractor springs and Adco CRANE O-rings for all my AR's.

Save the extra cash for ammo.

When I bought my 16-inch LMT Defender 2000 carbine several months ago, I was trying to find out what the consensus here about the LMT enhanced bolt.

The consensus was negative, so I just bought the tried and true LMT M16 BCG and I installed a Crane O-ring.

I also have a Colt bolt as a spare just in case.

I can't help feeling that it's an expensive solution to a small problem. All of my stock everyday bolts have run fine except one. I replaced the extractor spring and added an oring and it's been 100% reliable.

As Va Dinger said, safe the money to buy more ammo.

That enhanced bolt is garbage. Stay away.

The best way to enhance your bolt is to use a Wolff Extra Power extractor spring.

I've never had a problem with the two that I have installed. But, I am running the standard carrier. In this configuration, the bolts have been 100%.

I have an enhanced carrier that I have yet to try. I think the carrier was the cause for some of the rumors when coupled with short barrels. All I can see with the carrier is some tighter tolerances on the parts. For example, the rib underneath the carrier that slides between the feed lips on a magazine is .450". The distance between the feed lips on a magazine are .462". The rib on a standard carrier is .400" wide.

+3, as I personally know of (and have used) three LMT enhanced bolt groups that would not run reliably.
