I do wish they would mark them LMT as well

Both my barrels are fine and shoot better than I can most of the time

+1 What they said.

The LMT barrel extension are also marked with a letter "L" usually at the 9 o'clock position when you look at the chamber.

Since when have they been marking their barrel extension?  My LMT upper was purchased 4 years ago and it's lacking the "L".  Bought the upper directly from LMT too.

I also bought mine 4 years ago Apr. 2005 from an ARFCOM LMT dealer and mine have the "L" marking, maybe they mark most of their barrel extensions but not all.

Take a look at the M4 barrel extension pic to see the "L" marking.

Hmm, mine is marked "5.56 NATO 1/7 CB" without the "MP" but it does have an L on the barrel extension.  I bought it in 2004 like a couple months after the ban expired.

LMT per previous threads here use 4150 type steel barrels, but not any ordinary 4150, they use the Mil-B-11595E mil-spec type same as Colt, FN, Sabre Defence, and BCM barrels.
