The LMT barrel extension are also marked with a letter "L" usually at the 9 o'clock position when you look at the chamber. |

My LMT upper was purchased 4 years ago and it's lacking the "L". Bought the upper directly from LMT too. |

I also bought mine 4 years ago Apr. 2005 from an ARFCOM LMT dealer and mine have the "L" marking, maybe they mark most of their barrel extensions but not all. Take a look at the M4 barrel extension pic to see the "L" marking. |

Hmm, mine is marked "5.56 NATO 1/7 CB" without the "MP" but it does have an L on the barrel extension. I bought it in 2004 like a couple months after the ban expired.

does lmt use 4140 or 4150 steel?

does lmt use 4140 or 4150 steel? LMT per previous threads here use 4150 type steel barrels, but not any ordinary 4150, they use the Mil-B-11595E mil-spec type same as Colt, FN, Sabre Defence, and BCM barrels. |
