This cutom upper was made by us for a customer. It started as a NIB LMT upper in 16", we then added the Noveske and measured back to the bolt face. After the proper distance was determined we cut off the barrel and threaded it 1/2 X 28. We faced off the barrel so the Noveske Logo appeared on the left side of the upper. The Noveske was then pinned and welded to make 16.25" barrel length over all. I think it is pretty cool.
These will be a very nice addition to all the AR pistols guys have been building since the ban expired too! Other specs. LMT M16 bolt carrier with LMT enhanced bolt. Sampson 12" rail (customer provided) LaRue gas block LMT charging handle with Badger Ordnance Gen II Tac Latch. FINISHED UPPER  CLOSEUP OF MUZZLE END  Denny |

After doing a search I've read a few threads on the Noveske FH, but I still haven't found a good description outlining what it does.
I realize that a FH reduces flash of course, but what does this one do differently than other models? Does it reduce flash while acting as a compensator as well? What is it's raison d'etre? Denny, could you provide some technical insight-or point me in the right direction to find some? Thank you Sir!  |

It redirects the sound forward. All the gas that comes out is in a nice neat line going straight forward. Greatly re-directs the sound signature. Basially makes a 10.5" sound subjectivly like a M4. Thats the main benefit. Eliminating concussion and flash. Particulary useful on short guns for entry and vehicle type work.

The Noveske units main function is to direct muzzle blast away from the shooter and his team members. All center fire shorties have a mean back blast that really concusses you when firing, especially on full auto and even semi in enclosed enviornments. The Noveske unit all but eliminates the beating you take with shorties. If you have not personally experienced it you cannot appreciate how distracting it is. For civvies with shorties, especially those who do not live in suppressor friendly states or who don't want to spend the $$$$$ for a can these are most definately the answer. Flash suppression is fair, better than an A2 IMHO but it is not a Vortex or a Phantom, but pretty good, but that is not its primary function. This is not a silencer and has been ruled by BATF to be a flash hider. It simply directs the muzzle blast down range. These will be going on all my shorties are not suppressed. John Noveske basically improved the AK74SU unit and this one is top quality and made in the USA. The cone inside is stainless steel and the unit can be disassembled in a minute or less for cleaning. Paul Oh yeah, more than enough. In fact you will cut some off a 14.5 if you want 16.25 LOA. With a 14.5 you will preserve the barrel markings. This customer wanted a finished legal length of 16" and of course we alway err on the side of caution and go to 16.25 in case BATFE has a short measuring stick  If any of you guys plan this type of mod remember this sucker comes apart for cleaning and you loose approx. 1/8" or .125" when you take it apart. Be sure to figure your length with the Noveske KFH broken down for cleaning as BATFE will only measure the whole of the solid body. Denny |

Pretty much between the two. Flash is very, very ammo dependent. Some ammo is very flashy and some is not. Usually .mil ammo has a very low flash due to .mil requirements. If you are looking for the very lowest flash signature try different brands of ammo and you may want to check the ammo oracle on this site. Denny |

Per John Noveske, you use a 13.65" barrel whn welding on a KFH for a 16.1" OAL.
If you used a regular size FH/FS and a lo-pro gas block you could get a LaRue rail on and off over them without removing either. This is not an option with the KFH. |

No gas port mods as the KFH add back pressure If you use a Troy or Sampson rail you can remove it with the KFH in place. Denny |
