What are some options for LED heads for these or just replacement bulbs?

The gun will fire so I don't need a light bright enough to burn through someone.

Does not need to be that much brighter, a little would be nice, but mainly after a little extended battery life.

Also a huge plus would be if it is the same size as the Surefire head so I could still use my Surefire flip up cover or just an internal upgrade.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Somebody enlighten me on the TX-4 LED conversion I am reading about.

Likes, dislikes, is the head diameter the same as the original Surefire M500. I have a Surefire flip up cover on my M500 and would really like to still be able to use it.

Still up for other suggestions though.

Have messages to TNVC and others asking about the LED units. Hopefully users will comment. But whatever I find out I will post here.

Thank you for the quick reply. Guess you can ignore the same question I asked on your Industy Forum. Have not read one negative comment on it. My biggest concern was the head diameter and being able to use my Surefire cover that I really like.

Will contact you Monday with my order. Going to see if a few other people want in on the order before I place it.

Over the past several months I have become something of an evangelist for the TX-4 conversion on the M500 The previous lack of a viable M500 LED alternative is something that I had been bitching about for well over a decade. My first TX-4 changed all that.

For me, the ergonomics and switching options of the M500 make it an ideal weaponlight for the type of shooting and training I do. The TX-4 corrects the only gripe I have with the system. You will be extremely happy with yours.

To give you a visual unit comparison, the top carbine in the pic has a TX-4 head installed, and the bottom one has a standard Surefire OEM crenellated bezel:

Good luck TWPayne

Hey CJan, would you be able to measure the head on the TX-4 and your Surefire head and tell me the difference. Above TNVC said they were the same. I read somewhere that the TX-4 was smaller than the Surefire.

This is partly your fault you know. It's also your fault that I am Acog shopping right now.

Thank you, (i think, lol)

Terry

Hey Terry, I'll take exact measurements and report back as soon as I get home tonight

Off the cuff, the TNVC bezel is a bit shorter than the Surefire bezel-but the diameter between the two is very similar.

Sorry it took me a little longer than I had expected to respond-all hell has been breaking loose at the office this week

Anywho, the diameter across the bezel is nearly identical between the Surefire and TX-4 heads at 41.25(+/-)mm:

The TX-4 head is only a couple of hundredths smaller than the Surefire.

There is a difference in length between the two (the TX-4 is a bit shorter), but that hasn't mattered for any of the accessories I own.

Hope this helps
