Is the connector between the hammer and trigger pins raised off the surface of the receiver a few thousandths?

Its raised off the receiver by alot more than that.  Probably 1/16 to 1/8 inch.  Its a piece of metal that sits on top of the receiver.

Its really no problem, function-wise.

.......and if pushed to one side there is a slight gap in between the connecting rod and the reciever
