Hi, I was thinking about building a 11.5" pistol and was wondering if any of you guys have any experience or information about muzzle devices, especially the KKF Limiter and Levang Comp?

Thanks

Do you have this one:

If so, can you measure it and tell me how long it is? I want to order one, but none of the sites gives it's length.

Thanks,
Gene

I've been doing more searching on the web.  And found a really good comparison photo of size compared to a vortex and a2.  These photos were taken by Oleg from THR.

Cableman, what are you using your Levang Comp on?  Is it an AR with a short barrel?  How is the concussion and flash from this muzzle break like?  Any other details would be great cause there is very little concrete information about it on the net.

That picture sure does help. I would still like to know the overall length. For some reason I thought it was thicker or "fatter".

Thanks,

Gene

That works for me. I'm putting a 12" fiberglass ff tube (from armalite) on a 10.5" barrel for my pistol. This is just what I'm looking for to get that flame ball out and away from me (until I can afford a Noveske)

Thank you

ETA: these can be found for $34.95 at other places..

Does that Levang compensator help with the flash at all?

And does it direct the muzzle blast away like the KFH?

I was told it does, and looking at it, I would agree. Since there are no openings on the side, the flash has to go forward out the holes.
Lucky me, I just picked one up on the EE for $20.00 shipped.

Yeah Brownells is expensive on some stuff.  Even with the discount.  I usually use Brownells for reference.  Good luck with your project.

Gene, please post how that Levang comp works for you, I would like to know.

No problem. I'll be posting several pics and impressions/results. The lead time for mail to guam takes about 3 weeks, so it's going to be a while before you see any info from me about it, but I will post.

I know this isn't the EE, but i have a Levang I'd be willing to let go for a reasonable price.

I broke down and got a pair of electronic ear plugs. They kick MUCHO ass.

i used a levang comp on a 11.5" SBR durring the dark years.  i felt it did a very good job of re-directing the muzzle blast away from the shooter.

I put a Levang on my 7.5" and I can actually shoot it whithout hearing protection (not that I recommend that).  I actually tried the Phantom, and the Vortex as well, but for sound reduction the Levang was the most effective on my weapon.

Can anyone post photos of attached Levang on guns?

Thanks.

It's a CMMG 7.3 pistol that I recently got.  I'm really having a hard time not giving it a twin partner.   I think one for each hand would be uber tactical.
