I'm looking at building an AR AOW. I'm wondering if just the bottom rail of the KAC rail system will fit in the delta ring and front site base, without having the complete unit. Will the bottom rail stay put? I'd need it strong enough to hold a front vertical grip.

any help would be appreciated...also i'm pretty sure since it is (or will be) an AOW, I don't have to worry about the requirements for pistols having no barrell shroud/guard.

thanks

It will spin. The Top/side rail part of the RAS/RIS is what keeps the bottom rail in place. Your best bet is to hose clamp a small rail to the barrel and attach the V-Grip to it.

GG&G sells a rail called UFIR (Under Foregrip Integrated Rail), it screws onto you lower forend panel without modification. About 40-45$ Check it out at http://www.gggaz.com/products

thanks...i was hoping it wouldn't spin. I might just go with the UFIR or the little accessory rail that i got from SOG Armory.

Yep - I've got this set-up on an ArmaLite M15A4 carbine and it works fine.
