Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - KAC RAS-II

What are the advantages of a RAS-II over a standard RAS?  Aside from the physical differences (like the link between the forend and upper) what others are there?  I am contemplating getting a KAC RAS for my RRA and would like to know some info about the different kinds before I spend that kind of money.  Thanks in advance.

It free floats the barrel and unlike standard RAS/RIS, the rails over the barrel provide a rock solid mounting platform, perfectly suitable for mounting optics. RAS II is way better.
