Hey ARFCOM, I received my KAC 600m rear (black) from thoroughbred arms and compared it to my other KAC 600m (grey) that I bought a while ago thru EE. It's vastly different in color, the windage clicks are greater on the grey one, and the zero reset "Z" does not align to the base arrow (grey). One click on the grey has a travel distance of 2-3 on the black one, it doesn't feel as tight, and it sounds clickier.

The grey sight did come in a KAC box and sleeve with an Amazon sticker. The rear was bag sealed with the instruction & distance information card.

Serrations are coarser and the windage screw is different, have you asked in the KAC industry forum yet? They would be able to tell you if its legit for sure.

Ahh, that went passed me and forgot we had that part of the forum. Let me email KAC/Jack.

Pictures would also help.

I also see differences in the profile of the windage screw and the clamp screw. It's definitely a light shade of grey. I would just contact KAC.

Yeah I emailed Jack, pending response. Damn I knew something seemed off when I first got it, but I let it slide because it came sealed with the info card and "looked" authentic.

The screws & windage knob gap have me thinking the grey is questionable... Interested on how this turns out.

I've seen hundreds of these. Never one that looked like that.

Aww man I ain't feeling good about this. Got duped of $75 if it ends up being fake..

Still pending a response from KAC/Jack.

You buy from Thoroughbred Armament? They are a KAC dealer.

The black one is from Thoroughbred, but the grey one which I got first, quite a few years ago, thru EE for $75.

Had a buddy bring one by like that.
He wanted me to compare it to one of mine and it didn't compare very well.
He asked me well how did I know mine wasn't counterfeit?
"I don't know" I told him, "were they making fakes back in 2002?"

Welp, I still haven't gotten response from Jack via email...

Very Sorry to hear this, been a long time lurker here and don't recall seeing a counterfeit thread, but have seen many threads pertaining to counterfeit items, if these are fake which I hope they aren't maybe the mods here can get a counterfeit thread going and tagged if there isn't already one, please correct me if I am wrong, it would be nice to have a reference for fakes tagged somewhere here on the forum, and a couple of other responses here same to indicate people have dealt with a lot of faked items. Just my .02. Hope for the best and expect the worst because neither usually happen but in your case it will be one or the other so I hope the best for you! Good luck

check the clamping screw.
most clones use a metric screw.

I'll add more pics later for everyone to see and inspect. Perhaps we can turn this into an informative thread for everyone on counterfeits kac 600m.

Notes: peephole has finish imperfections. It takes 2 clicks to travel in between each number. Finish seams are more prominent.
