Apologize if it's been "done to death" but I've searched and searched and cannot find the item/information I am looking for.

Have DPMS .308 w/ Mark 4 4.5-14x40, 30mm,  blah, blah, blah.  Great rifle and shoots very well.

Interested in mounting a diminutive red dot (JPoint or Docter...prefer JPoint for weight and cost issues...) on my scope.  The only mounts I've found seem to place the red dot on top of the scope and appear very high, or require specialized rings and mount(LaRue version comes to mind...looks great, but I have good rings already!)

What I was hoping for was a more universal 30mm assembly that will mount on my scope body and place the red dot off to the side, thus not so high.  Not crazy about the Burkett (spelling?) off set mount as I'd prefer to not have to cant the rifle.

Anyway, any direction or suggestions would be appreciated!

i know you said you dont like the burkett munt but i use a yhm 45 degree 3 slot rail. by canting the rifle you can maintain you check weld and switch back and forth vs scope mounted. plus the mounts like 20.00 or cheaper if you find one used on the ee.i mount it just forward of the scope.

www.tacticalprecision.com.   The C.O.R.A. 1 or 2 looks like something you might be interested in.  I cant remember if they are 1" or 30mm or both but I think they would work.
