In my opinion if you want something from Nodak buy it now. I bought an AK pistol from Palmetto State Armory and it was a gauntlet of BS to try and get them to repair it.  Seriously, if there is a negative comment about Nodak’ quality I’ve yet to hear it. On the other hand to all you cheerleaders who think this is a wonder thing I suggest you read the comments about Palmetto State Armory (PSA)  on the Better Business Bureau website or look at what people have stated on the “Ripoff Report” about PSA. I believe there will shortly be two kinds of Nodak products: those produced BEFORE PSA bought them out and those produced AFTER PSA bought them out and the prices will reflect that.

You’ve been warned.

Congrat's on the merger! I'm the proud owner of several of your receivers (both AR and AK). Some of the best I've ever built!

Also, if Harlan were to come on up to New England for a beer tour, I'd gladly buy him a round. Or 4.

Good luck and enjoy SC

Here's a numbers matching AKSU with your numbers matching NDS receiver. I really appreciate that.

Congratulations!

I am all about the Handi-rifle 2.0. The 16" .357 and .44 Mags were great little rifles.

I am sure this will be a success and I look forward to seeing the H&R name brought back.

I wouldn’t pay attention to the BBB or rip-off report. Any more than I would pay attention to Yelp or other review sites/apps where armies of anonymous autistic trolls live to crucify businesses over minutiae.

Looks great, but also looks hand polished. How are the production versions going to be finished? Hand polished won't be feasible for scaling production.

All of my original uppers look awful, leave all the blems in place and market them as being more realistic.

Outside the AR Retro discussion - Is there tooling and other hard assets that were formerly H&R used in manufacturing that were acquired?

The old faithful H&R single shot shotguns as an example, licensing agreements for branded products (non-domestic shotguns, etc)?

Things we saw over the last 10 years that were interesting but didn't have much innovation as sorted through the prism of a gun enthusiast - more corporate budget-based product offerings.

For example a gun enthusiast at the helm would have innovated more from the platform - e.g. would have made a very poor man's judge from a 410 single shot H&R.

There is a difference between equity and investment acquisitions - looks like PSA expects more innovation and is making this an investment.

Very excited about this.  Its a great old name - I'm sure you guys will revitalize it.

They will have big bad a$$ deburring machines - which is ideal.

Once they are anodized you wont beable to tell the difference.

Hand polishing is for the birds, and the ppl that can’t afford a big sweet deburring machine. Lol.

I’m sure Mike is enjoying having his finger tips not sanded smooth.

I got an email from you guys the other week about still not knowing the availability for the next run of the NDS-16A1 lowers.

However, a H&R will do just fine

Mike,
The lower looks amazing.

To the naysayers,
Both vendors are sponsors of the forum (the tool we all use) This will only result in a high quality retro product for a reasonable price that will fill a void in the market.

Nodak will make quality products no matter where they are or what they are called.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  In the spirit of freedom site sponsorship should have 0 bearing on anything... sponsorship is just advertising space.
There have been a ton of companies over the years that have gone down the tube after an acquisition, so there is validity in that side of the argument.

I remain hopefully optimistic, but let others voice their own opinions. I wish them good luck and hope on quality products for years to come.

I’m deeply disappointed that I won’t be able to complete my T91 clone lower as a result of this.

Obviously I can engrave an A2 lower with the correct markings, but it will always bother me.

The H&R tradename, H&R trademarks and all H&R logos are solely owned intellectual property of JJE Capital Holdings. The use of these marks outside of anything sanctioned by JJE Capital is strictly prohibited.

We have big plans for H&R. Many have been mentioned in this thread and some will surprise you.

When I first met Mike Weteland, I knew he was the guy to run H&R. His knowledge of historical guns is second to none and his attention to detail is fantastic.

In fact I think Mike be a bigger gun nut than me, which is quite an accomplishment.

Let us know as you come up with ideas. Mike has been given the infrastructure, budget and authority to make H&R a premier manufacturer that focuses on retro designs and a few new ones.

Proud to have Mike on board
