Perhaps a modification here is in order then...... www.ar15.com/content/guides/assembly/lower/

excerpt:
Install buffer extension, (buffer tube); press detent when necessary; torque to 35-39 ft-lbs add spacer onto stock tube, and insert stock.

Or maybe a planet relocation Emperor.

Yeah, and it's not a "zipper", it's a "metal slide fastener".

I'll stick to calling it a buffer tube. It's easier to type and easier to say.

Where can I get some new 30 round clips?

So where can one buy a receiver extension for the adjustable CAR and M4 stocks. They have to be cheaper than buying the entire stock assemblies.

Bushmaster wants $25 for a 4 position extension/tube and Vltors are $40 for a 5 position extension/tube. I've heard of a 6 position and a 7 position tube but don't remember where I szaw them.

Just be aware that Vltor and Colt are one size while Bushie RRA and others are another size. (diameter of tube)

Why would this so-called "Moderator" use a term that means a device that holds or contains a rooster in an AR15 discussion forum?

Staff should re-examine who is allowed to "Moderate" on this site.

The Army issues Colt M4s but I just received 10 replacement buffer tubes and they are not Colt and are larger diameter like Bushmaster. The original Colt butt stocks fit but are too tight to collapse. I received a replecement upper receiver throught he Army supply system and it did not have the M4 cuts. It is quite obvious, the Army is buying non-Colt replacement parts and is not aware of the differences.
