I am looking at transitioning back to standard handguards from my railed model (for the sake of weight).

I have a midlength model carbine, and I am trying to find a polymer rail to mount on the standard handguards to mount a light with.

I am not sure which model is the most appropriate for my midlength handguards.  Does anybody have any suggestions?

If you haven't used one on a middy specifically, care to comment on whether or not you think that the model for CAR type handguards would work on the midlength?

I have asked this question of the importer and a retailer, and neither were certain of the compatibility.

Help!

Have a link to the products you're talking about?  That would help the sages know what to say...

I used the TDI rail on my carbean lenth.  I set it up for an offset mount for my light.  It works great.  You have to be handy with tools and such, because the RAIL is meant to mount on the bottom where the vent holes are.

I'm sure it would work fine on a MIDDY cuz you have to drill and fit it anyway.

Thanks fior the replies.  I have ordered the CAA rail, although it's not here yet.

I did have aluminum railed handguards (Suerefire), but I just sold them as I was looking to drop some weight on the carbine.

What I will do is mount the polymer rail on the top of the handguards, and then install a Viking Tactics offset light mount on the rail.
