I've just mounted my new G2 Surefire with Z32 Shockproof Bezel on my Bushmaster M4.
I do have the notorious Mini y-comp, and I've attached the flashlight to the 9 o'clock position on some M44 Handguards.
My concern is if the shockwave from the mini-y will damage the surefire.
Thank you very much.

It is not designed to take the abuse, I realize that its a good deal but it wont just take the repeated shock, surefire sells some good lights that are designed for the abuse YMMV

I would ditch the Y-comp.  I know you didn't ask about that, but I'm betting you will want to at some point.  It just doesn't make for fun shooting from my view.

Dude, you have no idea how badly i hate this thing. I wish there was something quicker and cheaper than Kurts Kustom Firearms.

Someone could probably make a fortune on a Mini-Y cover, like they have for that Armalite brake. Idea's released to the public domain, if I'm the first to think of it (doubtful)

IIRC, someone tried making one a couple of months ago, and the backpressure in the brake caused the brake to blow off the end of the barrel.

Not as pleasant as simply sending it to KKF (who is WELL worth the wait.  Mine was, anyway).

Thanks for all the replies for far guys...keep them coming.

Does anyone know if the Z32 Shock-proof bezel is sufficient to protect the light against such a blast?
Thanks

Mini-Y blues?

Easy to fix.

Have your gunsmith ream the central bore of your mini-Y out to 5/16ths of an inch.

That's all.

Results:  Much quieter, about equal to a plain muzzle.   Muzzle flip is still totally eliminated.

Been there, done that, works like a charm.

No loss in accuracy?

You're not drilling or reaming the BARREL, just the comp.

No, no loss in accuracy.  You'd lose more if the bullet were to touch the edge of an improperly installed comp.

I think your light will be fine.Since the G2 is mounted behind the muzzle,I don't think it would be effected by muzzle blast.

Ok to give you guys a better understanding on where and how close my G2 is mounted to my y-comp, i've decided to upload some pics. How do you guys still feel about the blast hurting the flashlight?

Sweet thank you very much Wipeout!

So how do you guys feel about this set-up? Is the G2 safe from the blast with the shock-proof bezel installed?
Thanks again!

I think it should be alright. If not, I would suggest either reaming out the Brake (as stated above), or just have it removed.

P.S. I like your orange mag followers
