Is there no interest in this product at all?
Does anyone have additional information about this handguard and who exactly is MI anyway? Do they have a website? |

Midwest Industries Incorporated - We carry thier whole line and have nothing but good to say about it. Very good products and people. Their Flip up rear sight (ERS), QD sling swivels, small tac rails, etc. are second to none in quality. ETA: their handguards are the nicest I've seen (fit, finish,etc.). |

Some info here
They have not started to ship out yet, I saw them in production yesterday. The product should ship out in a couple weeks and we will start taking pre orders about a week before that.  As Rusty said, they make a lot of good stuff!

I would like to know what the width is on these-comparing them to a KAC unit. I ask because the YHM is alot wider and I don't use covers on that one because of that.

I don't know what you sell them for - but their MSRP on the MI website is $281.21. That's a significantly higher MSRP than the YHM, Surefire or GG&G units. |

Retail is $155 and street will be less I'm sure. The price you saw was probably for their modular system.
ETA: Still probably 2 weeks away. They are in production now, but still require anodizing, etching, etc. Here's a pic of the front section and optional offset and then one with the TD grip installed. I am sure we weren't the only ones asking MI to be sure the TD was a good fit     |

Indeed it was. So this is a different product? Looks like a competitor to the YHM series (and MI got it right by NOT having that goofy slot down the middle). |

Brand new product and we don't get excited about much around here, but the look and fit of the prototype were really good. Having a separate model for the Colt end caps and then another for everything else will help everyone get a good fit too IMO. ETA: these pics are old news, but here's the set we tried out...   |

Measuring the widest part from the 3:00 rail to the 9:00 rail, the MI measures approx 2.4" a Colt M4 plastic handguard measures approx 2.2" thanks! Paul BCo. |

That's probably because the only difference between the YHM and the MI is the slot down the center. |

They will be releasing Rifles and Mids also, but that may not be until late summer. There will also be a extended rail version of this 2pc handguard, where the rails run past the front sight base. (#17X) |

Here's a quick question: Will the top rail be level with the flatop rail? I know YHM had some issues but I'm sure MI will get it right. |

The MI is level with the flat top. I think it was the SF that was not level with the flat tops? |
