I haven't seen much 9mm Luger ammo for sale other than hot stuff for sub guns.

Is there any high quality surplus around for the 9mm around?

Should I just continue to shoot the green box UMC Remington that goes on sale occasionally?

Thanks
SoS

I've been shooting Miwall's 9mm reloads.  I get a hard primer ever now and then but other than that it's been great.

Thanks for the reply, I haven't seen that around but I am skeptical of shooting someone else's reloads.  (except maybe Black Hills someday)

I haven't seen any 9mm surplus in years. It used to be plentiful and then, POOF, no more. I would NOT shoot the hirt subgun ammo in handguns. It is way over pressure for most of them.

viahj,

I'll check there.  I am thinking he was the one with the subgun ammo.  Bet it'd group real good.....for awhile.

I'll check it out thanks!

SoS

Edited to add, yup that looks like really nice stuff.  I'm not sure I'll get any at almost $9 a box.  Would be awesome to put away though, made right, and packed right.

Medicman I did check out the Miwall stuff too but it isn't that much cheaper, especially after shipping.
I think I'm going to stick with Dick's and Walmart sales at 5.99 a box.

Thanks guys, at least I know what is out there now and I'm not missing a special surplus bargain.

I would just shoot the Winchester 100 round value packs at Wal-Mart.  If you really want some high quality military 9mm, there is some Winchester 9mm NATO floating around (packaged in 50 round boxes, black letters).  It's good and hot.  Ammoman also has this, but not in the 50 round boxes.

Anyone tried the ADCOM (UAE), 124gr, brass, boxer - Ammunition Store

$109.95/1000 + shipping.

They've carried this for a few weeks, haven't seen any reviews.

I picked up 10k.  I've run it in my FS Uzi.  Boxer primed, brass case, sealed.  What I've seen of mine looks good appearance-wise.  No defects so far.  Ran flawlessly, "feels" about like Nato-spec, but have to get the chronograph out and check.

I picked up a few boxes locally just to see how I liked it. I have not shot much of it, but it appeared to be clean burning and shot some decent groups in my Glock 19. It feels as hot, or slightly hotter than the M882 Ammoman has been selling. I dont have a chronograph to say for sure. It is sealed on the primer end, and also crimped. The bullets do not attract a magnet. Good looking ammo.

Some folks over a Glocktalk were claiming to have failure-to-fire issues with it, but I had none. IIRC it was only with `99 marked lots... which is what I have. There is a possibility that the primers might be a little on the hard side.

I would probably buy more, but its only a few cents cheaper than WWB for me.

Hmmm, yeah i've been using WWB or UMC as it's always around.  I was hoping to get milspec surplus cheap.  I'm leary of factory reloads.  At least with new you know the brass has never been used as opposed to we think it's only been shot once.
thanks for the help guys

Man, I wish I could shit out enough money to go out and buy 10,000 rounds! You make me sick LOL  Hell I can't even afford 10,000 rounds of 22LR.

I buy UMC 9MM for range ammo when it's on sale at Dick's.  It's the only ammo I don't buy online.

We must be related.... That's exactly the same scenario (I didn't know they have Dick's sporting goods in RI)

I buy the 9MM UMC from Dicks for $5.97 per 50 ($4.99 when they have it on sale or $5.48 when your buy 10 boxes)

Everything else is off the net

great minds think alike....

We have had a Dick's in RI for about a year now.  Running water for 2.

We have had a Dicks for 2.5 years and a Gander Mtn for just over a year.  It's nice to see them compete a little.  I got a nice ice fishing shelter going back and forth in talking to the managers.  I buy thier 9mm UMC at Dicks, Gander prices suck  the only "deal " at Gander is the Indian 7.62 ammo that is notorious for being junk.

I usually  buy some other pistol ammo at the same time, dicks runs a sale, it'll be 9mm, 40, .357, and .45.  Almost always UMC.  I shot some of the .45 yesterday.  Made me aware that my pistol skills aren't degrading that bad but my old load for a 200 gn SWC that was good in the old pistol sucks in the new one.  That UMC ball is very accurate stuff.  I tore a nice ragged hole with the whole box at 25 yards.

Another possibility:

KY Imports has IMI 9mm, year 1994, for $149.99/1250 (=$119.99/1000) in stock as of this morning.  Rep stated the primers are considered harder than normal, unsure of a P, +P, +P+ classification.

Don't know if this is more appropriate for sub-guns, but the price is good for IMI product.

And they're out of all of the .223/5.56 on their web site other than the Olympic and PMC.

$6 a box is pretty good.  I think KY had the IMI subgun ammo last I looked.  I will look again.
Thanks!
