What a pleasant person. Proud "usmckidd" could chime in with all his/her wisdom. If he/she were an actual Team Member here, he/she could read the archives and see that some manufacturers use blue or even red loctite (the almost permanent unless you heat it kind) thread locker on the receiver extensions and/or castle nuts of stocks. If you try wringing something off with excess force that's been put on with red loctite, you'll do damage, most likely, especially with a big cre
scent wrench. The way to get it to turn loose easier is with heat to loosen the red loctite.
www.loctiteproducts.com/repairs.asp?qfid=5&Product=154Based on at least one post in the archives about this same thing, more than one Colt Sporter owner has had this same problem, and heating it worked. They didn't see any signs of threadlocker afterwards, though.
The OP got it off without your help, by the way, but thanks for playing anyway.
