pack it between some clothes in your baggage so it doesnt get damaged.
if the TSA people found it you'd be fricking held at gun point by the JBT's because its a "weapon." ironiclly the acog doesnt have anyway to discharge any projectiles. |

I'm trying to carry it using Trijicon's case, it is looks just like a pistol case. I'm sure when it goes through metal detector, they will pull it out of my bag and check it.
Of course it is not a weapon but you know, there are unimaginable BS going on in Airport security these days. I saw one lady getting her cosmetic scissors (which has like .5 inch of blades) confiscated. |

I fly on a regular basis to and from the US, and have no problems. Im not military, but have various and sundry things such as:
Raid pack Hellcat with mags(no ammo) Scopes, RAS ect Benchmade Auto knife Aid bag with IVs, needles, drugs (No Narcs) I never have had a problem in the least bit. I normaly carry my aimpoint and ras in my carry on, the rest is in checked. |

Hey, good thing those TSA guys were gloves, it will keep them from getting fingerprints all over your nice ACOG. Just make sure those fools don't drop it - it can take it but it's too nice to scuff up intentionally.

I'd be afraid of the radioactive properties of tritium...I don't know how that will come across in times like these, if they can detect it, (which they probably won't, due to it's very minute amount)

For Christ's sake just ask the check in clerk to summon a TSA rep. Tell them what you have and your concern that it might be misconstrued. Ask for an inspection in your presence and have them lock the case when they are done. No friggin problem. I just got back from Gunstock and flew out of NY with a tripped out preban M4 and a Hipower. I did the above and was thanked for my assistance and dilligence. Work with the TSA and there are no problems.

However, it doesn't go through as luggage, it may not have as much as an ACOG, and I doubt they are checking for radioactivety everywhere, but who knows... |

When I was flying back from AZ to the UK in March, I had 2 new Leupold scopes in my hand luggage. The X-ray machine picked them up.
I was told that I couldn't take them on board in my carry on bag. When I asked why not? I was told " because they fit on to a firearm!" I was then escorted back to check in and a police officer asked where I was going. Security told him that I had 2 rifle scopes and he said " so what's wrong with that?" and security just said "Federal regulations" Bullshit Mark |

As I said before, I have no problems what so ever, none of these things are illegal, no questions can be asked, well they could ask about the med gear, so I carry a laminated copy of my certs, but have never been asked to show them.
