After trying one of these out I know I want one but I was wondering if anyone is using the Gladius as their weapon light.  If I switch to it and a KAC front grip from the M900 I will knock a half pound from the front of my rifle which is noticably front heavy.  What is the throw like compared to the 6V and 9V Surefires?  Do you have problems manipulating the tail switch with your off hand while holding the vertical grip?  Any pics of your set ups?

From all the good reports,
I'd REALLY like to see a Dedicated Gladius weapon light with
an ARMS or Larue Throwlever base.

I have a Gladius in 30mm ARMS low mount rings (gotta use the inserts) at 9 o'clock.  Can easily hit the switch with the left thumb.

Good light out to 50 yards.  Awesome indoor light.

Remillard, can you post some pics?  Would you say its easy to rotate the tail switch with your thumb?  I figured I might have to use my index finger and thought it might be too diffucult to activate smoothly and quickly.

Here's a photo

You really don't use your thumb to rotate the switch because you switch it on when the weapon is deployed.  But if need be (say to switch from constant on to strobe or vice versa) you can do it with your support hand.  As I think about it I'd say the switch can be toggled with just the thumb if you have long enough fingers.

I just put my Gladius in a Surefire cheapo weaver mount at the 3 O'clock position.......  My thumb hits it perfectly while holding the SF910 foregrip........  I put it on there purely for the strobe option for my M4.......  Anyone think they will ever come out with a tape switch for this thing?

Well I purchased a Black anodised Gladius from Stretegos yesterday so it should be here in a few days.  Hope it works as well on a carbine as I hoped it would.  I have not been able to find a Larue throw llever offset 1" mount.  I want a cheap mount to use till those are readily availble.  Suggestions?  Any reason to not use a polymer, bolt on mount in the mean time?

DevL,

I'd give the Vltor mount a try.  They look very well made and don't cost an arm and a leg either.

"We are hoping to have a tape switch for the Gladius by Q1 2006.  Wish it was sooner, but that is the current track.

Best to you.

Respectfully,

Ken J. Good"

Which Vltor mount is being referred to that fits the Gladius?

How much scratch is that gladius going for around here? I've seen it locally for $249.00 - ouch. Remillard, you run the gladius & the surefire together?

I recently got the Gladius as a weapon light for my rifle. Here is what it looks like mounted on my Bushmaster M4A3 w/ Midwest Industries Carbine Extended Handguards and a Daniel Defense Offset Mount:

Looks nice! Ya know, we can KG coat the DD mount for you in SOCOM Tan!

Actually I like it the way it is, as I think it's just the right combination of black and tan. I did order that and the light from you, though. Thanks for the fast processing/delivery.

If any of you guys feel so motivated, can you email me the pics of your Gladius that is weapon-mounted, along with permission to post it on our Night-Ops photo-album...

Or just give me permission to copy them from here.

That would be awesome.

We just installed the Gladius on our MP-5's.  The other day one of the guys on our team lit up a guy with the strobe during a Narcotics warrant, and apparently the suspect fell to the floor and urinated all over himself.  No Joke.  Now that's awesome!
