I have an airsoft M-16A2 and Im pretty sure that it is close to the weight of a full size M-16A2 (though Im not exactly sure). It doesnt have any attachments that would alter its weight. And Im not sure if it is because I dont carry it around everyday but it seems to me that I just cant seem to get used to the weight. So my question is do or have any of you gotten used to the weight of your guns? Can you lift,maneuver,and/or sling the gun without feeling the weight?

Dude, the M-16A2 service rifle with sling and loaded 30-round magazine weighs only 8 3/4 pounds.  If you can't handle that weight, you best hit the gym ASAP!

Ummmm, join a gym, you need to push some steel.  If 8.5 lbs. is too much for you, how do you expect to survive in a tactical situation when you are tired and worn out, as well as not being able to work your gear.  Not trying to be a jerk, but it's the truth.

Try a M14 with 20 round mag, scope, and bi pod. Then you can complain about the rifle being too heavy!

An unfettered M16 (be it A1, A2, A4, or M4) is a very light weapon.

Don't try to compare airsoft to the real thing.
When you turn 18, run on out and buy yourself an AR15.

My M21 tactical rifle weighs fifteen pounds loaded and I’ve been known to actually carry it.  Between the firing line and the parking lot doesn’t count

Hit the gym

I lugged a fullsize M16 from 1989-2000, and never really considered it heavy (I had 90+ lbs of other sh*t to worry about).

I don't find it cumbersome at all, the M4 I have now is handy but with all the attachments (M203, lights, etc.) it weighs more than my A1 or A2 ever did.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but how old are you???

The M16A2 is one of the LIGHTEST rifles our country has ever fielded.  If you can't get used to the weight its time for some pushups.  I ran around with one for a year in Iraq while wearing 87 pounds of body armor, mags, ammo, M9 pistol, etc...  sometimes with the M16 slung across my back while carrying an M249 with a 200 round box.

Anything gets heavy after awhile when you have to carry it with you for hours.

Try lugging an M2 1/2 mile to your truck every morning... thats what even we big boys call heavy...

The 20" AR-15 A2 is relatively light. Now you can make it like 15 pounds or more if you want by turning it into a NRA high power service rifle...but that that's not a field rifle, it's for target shooting.

Had a nice Uncle [Sam] introduce me to a couple of 20"ers, thought I was in love, but I ended up cheating on, and leaving her for an M4, I was always into the petite ones anyways!  But it was the adjustable LOP that did it for me, we can do our dirty work in four different positions, now!

The only time I ever thought they were heavy was while marching for a few hours in formation at port arms.  I had been a SAW gunner for a while and after getting used to that, the M162 felt like a lawn dart to me.  By then though, the 18 pound M249 was easily handled and I carried it like most carried an M16. Usually without a sling in the field.  It's just something you get used to.  I'm sure that the GI's in WWII thought their Garands were heavy at first too.  And the BAR guys probably made fun of them for it.

hat
yeah, but it's really not that heavy, i mean i used to think it was...... when i was 6. if you can't take even an airsoft M16, get an airsoft M4. though i think you shouldn't even have an airsoft, just get the real thing, half these stupid little airsoft guns cost just as much as the real thing.
