I was scouring the net last night and found this deal.

1000 Rounds of Adcom M855 62gr FMJ for $206.52 delivered.

It seems so long as it's not part of the 1999 lot, the price is pretty good.

I'm trying to get some contact info ie phone number. I'd rather speak to a real, live human being and ask a few questions before snatching up ~2K of this stuff.

Here's a link to the site.

Pretty sure all of the Adcom from surplusammo.com is 99' headstamp - hence the cheap price.

Never hurts to call and confirm, though.  Let us know.

Sent them a email asking that question and never got a reply.  Possibly a phone call would do it.  I ordered 2k from them about 6-8 weeks ago and it was all 99.  I have never heard of anyone getting anything but 99 from them.  BTW, I have not had a problem with the approximately 3K of 99 I have shot.  Some have.

I'd say it's a good price, but not a great price.  A great price would be around $180.  A good price would be $200 - $220.  That would be for the non '99.  20 + cents per round for possibly suspect ammo is too much in my opinion.

what is the problem with the 99 headstamp

Some folks had problems with poorly seated primers and dents/dings on the brass casings of '99 headstamp. A few folks vowed to never again use Adcom ammo.

Although it appears more folks have been happy than dissapointed.

I'll try 1K first and see how the M4gery likes it. For $206 delivered, it's worth a try.

Thats where he looking.  Just go to surplusammo and click on rifle ammo and it will give you the 500, 1000 & 2000 prices. I paid $319 for 2K in June.  It went up.

The stuff that I got from AIM last summer was great.  I had exactly 0 problems of any kind with it other than I didn't get more of it.  Now the price is up about 25% and all that anyone seems to have is '99.  The 2k that I shot was '04.  Some people refuse to shoot the '99, others don't seem to care.  For me, I can't buy the '99 for that price when I've had the '04 for cheaper.

Check the archive on the ammo review and reference at the top of the page.  It will give you more than enough user opinions of the ammo as a whole.
