Posted this earlier in the wrong forum;  I just bought a couple of 20 and 30 rnd magazines from the local gun shop and CADA show. Some are date stamped, some just have the manufacturers name on it, some don't have anything on them.Am I illegal just because I have them. Shot the 30 rounders at the local range this past weekend. Nobody said anything, am I just asking to get busted ? Does it depend on what state your from (Illinois) ? Should I play it safe and just use the 10 rounders at the range ?

why would you think they are illegal if you just have them??   No preban mags dont need to be dated or have any markings on the mags only the post ban mags have to be marked for Government Use only.   by the way on Sept 14 they will all be legal!!  Oh and yes some states ban high cap mags but not yours to name a few MD,CA,NJ,HI

If they are dated after 1994 then they are illegal to own. If the AWB sunsets on Sept 14th, then they will be legal to own. Until then, I suggest you tuck them away and not use them and see what the AWB does.

Even after the 14th I don't care to own anything with LEO only on it.

LEO marking is only necessary due to AWB, once the laws go away, these words will be just that, words, and no legal meanings.

After the sunset it won't mean crap.  As for guns, you can have a LEO right now, as long as it is set up in post-ban configuration.  I got a letter from the ATF for that, but it really won't matter in a couple of weeks!
