Run BUIS?

For optimal eye relief, my buis don't fit.

Two options:

- remove them
- run in front of acog.

or offsets.

Third option - get a BUIS that fits under the ACOG. I also don't run ACOGs that need to be so far back (TA33s and TA44S).

I forsee a move to the Optics and Sights forum.

Having said that - I am a convert. My primary weapon does not run a rear BUIS (fixed FSB/gasblock), and I don't even have eye relief issues, I just feel that except for on clones where they're "needed" to complete the clone, they're extraneous. If I was having eye-relief troubles, it wouldn't take me a second to dump them.

Mine is an unpopular opinion here, so you may not find many who agree. C'est la vie.

i have a troy buis layed down behind it. if i need to use that i remove the ACOG and since its on a LARUE mount.... its super easy

i would use offsets, but on that one, but it has a fixed A2 front sight.

This is one reason I run a 1-4 power in a larue, on my recce/spr rifle buis actually fit.

Same here - LaRue QD mount for my ACOG so I can use my BUIS if needed.

When using an optic with an etched reticle I don't feel the need for a BUS.

Is there a reason you can't collapse the stock?

Third option... LMT or LaRue fixed BUIS that you can mount/dismount if needed without tools. Not the quickest, but if your acog is broken, you have bigger problems.

I have to agree . my ta 31f fits right over the matech rear sight on my 6940 , I just figured the rifle was a good place to store the sight. the same with my leupold cq/t I have mounted on my 458 socom it fits right over the m-buis sight . some times if I am hunting thick brush I take the optic off and use the sights .

Why of course there is, I'm running an A1 stock.

I took off the mbus I had on there.

Figured if something were to take out the optic, plastic mbus would be not so useful as well.

Ignore the mismatch in color. I need to cut out stencils and re-camo the rifle

Pic taken before removal of mbus

That optic has 2.4" eye relief so I don't understand why you have it mounted so far back.

I don't shoot ntch.

I moved it all over the place and it felt the best there.

It worked just fine mounted towards the front, just liked the way it "worked" there.
