Have you thought about building or contracting to have built a false flash suppressor(ffs)?  Especially one with set screws like your set screw compensator.  There are many people, myself included, who want to have "the look" without the noise that accompanies a compensator/muzzle break.  I hope and many believe that the AWB will sunset next year and don't want to (semi-)permanently affix a fake flash hider to a barrel only to have to heat, beat and /or cut it off in a year.  I believe such an FFS would bring many sales, plus I personally would like one.  Thanks.

The SOG armory item is a muzzle brake, not a FFS...

I'm not too fond of the SOG piece, since it did this (caked carbon and those oh-so-sexy deep gouges)...

I have the SOG brake.  I haven't have any problems with it other than it increases noise and doesn't cut down on flash. How did it do that to your barrel?  Did it do that while you were shooting?  Anyway, I've got three choices fill in the slots, install a tube for the bullet  pass through without letting gas out of the sides and I forgot what the othe choice was.
