I've read the selector positions on the first prototype rifles were different from the rifles today.  Maybe "SAFE" at the top and "SEMI" to the rear and "AUTO" to the front.

I don't, yet, own a copy of "The Black Rifle."  Are these early selector markings pictured in the book?  If so, can someone scan and post or email me a copy of those selector markings?

Yes, the selectors are shown in the book, but the above picture is better quality.

Very similar to a VZ58. Safe is in the same position.
