Who cares what all the haters say. Bill Ruger is dead, get over it. The company is obviously trying hard to save its reputation and the SR-556 is yet another testament to this. 1500 is a DAMN fine price for what you are getting. All of the ruger firearms ive owned are reliable, rugged and affordable, and this one should be no different.
Oh, and I almost forgot: Pics or it never happened |

This thread is WORTHLESS without pics. Stop what you are doing and post some pics, please.

No get a photobucket account, take some pics, upload them, then post the url on here. If you dont have a camera, then go to the local walmart, buy the cheapest one they have take pics, then return it...ASAP!!! |

ETA - Where was it $1499? Impact? I paid a tiny bit more but might want to steer some other folks in the right direction. |

Immediately remove a corner off of your ManCard™! You know this violates so many rules and yet you still proceeded to post about obtaining a new weapon with out the required pictorial evidence. You, Sir, FAIL.
Just kiddin'! Now let's see some damn pics! |
|
awesome! I think the ruger could be an amazing deal for the money,
with all the doodads and gas piston upgrades. I'd like to see one up close - if only someone could post pics... |

< GD esq pics are not permitted in the Tech Forums - F >
Well I'll be damn...my bad. |

Sorry fellas, Its charging, I havnt use it in awhile. But will give yall a little run down. Its built very well, very sturdy, finish is well done. Upper and lower reciever is black while the barrel and gas block is a dark grey. Slight play between the upper and lower, not bad, about normall, I guess, no worse than my BM's and Colts. The safety is a little sloppy. Trigger is very nice, didnt expect it to be this good, its not a competition trigger but is better than my BM and Colts, except for my BM Varminter this is by far the best AR trigger I have. The bolt, bolt carrier, piston selector valve, piston are chromed. Bolt carrier is oversized in some areas, im assuming to counter carrier tilt. The BC is very slick, with some fresh oil on it watch out or it'll slip right out of your hands. The Troy rail is very sturdy and has no play at all, the three Troy rail covers are supplied and only one has RUGER(in white) label on it so I put it on the bottom rail. They secure very well with little play. The Troy sights are very well made and when deployed have no movement at all. The barrel is not a little whimpy barrel, it looks to be a medium/heavy profile under the quadrail. Bore is chromed also. The piston selector valve(or whatever its called) is very tight and needs to be broken in some to be able to turn with fingers(unless you have very strong fingers), I used a pistol cleaning rod to rotate it. The rear stock is standard M4 type, will replace it with one of the Magpul stocks. I will also replace the Hogue pistol grip with something else also, never have like it, took it of my Varminter also. The three supplied Pmags insert and drop free easily. The carry bag is OK, it will be thrown in the back of my closet as I already have far better ones, but it will suffice. Only thing I can say bad about it right now is the sloppy safety lever, may just be mine. I am really pleased with the trigger. Now to clean out the bore and chamber so its ready for the range.
Its, still charging !!! |

Thanks man. I'm really excited about this rifle, don't know why. Maybe it's my indifference to other recently tried platforms and my fondness for ARs.
Please share any and all future (like now) observations! |
|

Another gun shop here also got a couple in today but they were wanting $1,699. I think $1,500 to $1,700 is going to be a good price for these. |

Talk about waiving a nickle bag in front of a bunch of crack whores!
1. Post some pics. 2. Closely follow the pics with a range report. |
|
You don't need a FULL CHARGE. 5 minutes is enough to snap several pics.
|
|

Pics please... And I really want to see pics of the gas regulator showing how it is notched and how the ports are cut
I want to know how difficult it would be to have someone make a regulator with custom gas port sizes for special purposes (like a supressed 300 Whisper ) |
|
Unfair to post the exact same thread on SIGForum without pictures, thus spreading the flames! How long does it take your camera to charge!!!
|

There are detailed pics of the rifle all over the internet.
Everyone knows what it looks like. Does he have some magical camera that I don't know about? His opinion of the rifle is more important than seeing another picture of a Troy sight for the hundred thousandth time. |
|
I don't think anybody has asked this yet, but could you please post some pics?

he supposedly has the pics, just doesn't know how to resize them or get them up.
To the OP- use ms paint if you have to resize. not hard. use a photo hosting service like photobucket, then paste the link into the field when prompted by pressing the photo button (mountain with the sun behind it). |
