After a long day of shooting I love how my deflector looks with brass markings all over it from the ejected empties.
Should my empties even be hitting the deflector and is this normal operation?
Ive owned only two ar's and this is the first time ive noticed it.

My rifle functions perfectly with all ammo ive used.

That's a good point. I was standing behind a friend at the range last weekend, as he fired his AR, and noticed that after 3 30rd mags were emptied; all the spent cases were in a nice pile on the ground in a space that could have been covered  with a sheet of 8.5x11 notebook paper.
