It depends what your going for. A while back I picked up a AR-10 Carbine upper from a friend. I decided to build an lower for it. I used an Eagle Arms lower with a JP Trigger and an ACE SOCOM stock. After I did that I decided I wanted another...
 . I am now working on another upper (followed by a new lower). The new one is a 26" Krieger barrel. Are you looking for a target gun or a CQB weapon or ??

You'll love it. My brother has a DPMS AR10 with a 24" bull barrel. It's a nail driver! I got it to shoot a 1 1.4" group at 200 yards in an 18 mph crosswind. And that's on Portugesse surpluss 7.62x51. I'm impressed.

Someone more in the know maybe able to answer this. What .308 setups out there that you can build yourself take which type of mags ?

The 308 lowers I have seen take the FAL magazine. Correct me if I am wrong though if other manufacturers use something different.

Armalite uses FAL Mag, DPMS uses Stoner mags, and Bushmaster, I think, uses M1A mags, but I'm not possative. The Stoners are a bit on the high side and so far seem to have an issue with a full 20 rounds, though I think it's a feed rail issue on my bro's.

DPMS= Stoner mags
Bushmaster=FAL mags Armalite = M14 modified mags (with the ban gone, they are producing there own mags so they don't have to modify the USGI m-14 mags). |
