I've been working on getting this just to my liking for about 6 months now and I think I have it. Definitely going to upgrade the optic in the future but for now I'm happy.

AAC MPW in 5.56 is what it started as with:
16" 5R Rifled 1/7 twist SCARmor coated barrel
Mid length gas
KAC URX 3.1 13.5"
Geissele G2S 2 stage trigger
AAC Nickel Boron BCG

Changes I've made are:
AAC Blackout 51T Muzzle Brake
KAC URX Deluxe Rail Panel Kit
KAC Micro Front Sight
KAC Micro 200-600 Rear Sight
KAC Vertical Foregrip
KAC Handstop
Surefire M600B 200 Lumen LED
BCM Mod 4 Charging Handle
BCM Mod 3 Pistol Grip
BCM Trigger Guard
Noveske QD End Plate
Noveske STS 60° Ambi Safety
B5 Systems Sopmod Bravo Stock
Damage Industries Chrome Silicone Buffer Spring
H2 Buffer
Magpul BAD Lever
Magpul RSA Sling Attachment
Larue LT 135 QD Mount
Leupold VX 1 2-7x33 Scope
Lasermax Micro Red Laser

Looks great, and if you dig it, thats all that matters! For the record I dig it too.

Solid build.  If it were mine, I'd ditch the VFG and Laser. I'd also probably switch the stock out for an Enhanced SOPMOD and keep some spare flashlight batteries in it (however, I realize that stocks are a very personal thing, so not dinging points for what you have chosen).

Life's a garden, dig it. If you're happy, enjoy it.

Not sure I would have the handstop and vfg, but if it works and you enjoy it, keep on rocking in the real world.

Thanks.

I just threw the laser on to see how it is. It belongs on my Glock 17 but just toying around with it. Batteries are in the pistol grip.

I agree, but that's a great looking build none the less.

I use the VFG for more of a larger hand stop. I used to have a short angled BCM where the KAC is. The hand stop up front is used as a reference point and I've found I wrap my index finger on support hand around it for stability.

It looks like a quality build but a little "busy" for me. I keep my stuff pretty plain because I'm a snob but I am poor so I don't have the money for the expensive toys lol.

Agreed on the VFG. That scope needs to go back on your 22lr and the AR needs a RDS or something more CQBish but the rest of the rifle looks sweet.

I don't think I understand.  You have a super duper tactical close combat rifle with a hunting scope on it.

I would ditch the BAD lever. Because it's bad.

Too busy.
Rail ladders everywhere.
VFG and hand stop?

Dump BAD lever and hand stop and 90% of rail ladders.  Replace VFG with a stubby one.  Ditch laser.  The optic and mount are ... interesting choices.

Wait, you have a laser and a scope? How does that work?

It's a carbine, doesn't need a magnified optic or at least not one that big; get an ACOG or some sort of Aimpoint/EoTech.

VFG and handstop is different.

Do you really need the LT-135 at 1.93" high?  Would not a 1.5 LT-104 be better?  I have a very long target 6-24x50mm scope with 4" sunshade that extends over the folded front sight. The LT-135 is needed for that purpose to clear the large objective sunshade over the folded sight.  90% of the time that rifle runs a 3-9x40mm scope in the standard height LT-104. Plenty of clearance.

Just curious as to why the high QD mount for a smallish objective 2-7x scope?  Not criticising the 2-7x, especially if you shoot under 300 yards, but the mount surprises me.

This wouldn't work for me.  1.93" is just too high. 1.2" to 1.5" is much better IMO.

I also use a vert grip for a hand stop.

It's your rifle and as long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters. It's a quality rifle for sure. Having said that, I would select either the handstop or VFG, not both and definitely ditch the laser. Also, I would either run a RDS or a variable 1-4/1-6 and pretty much be done with it from that point..

The Scope and mount are for a bolt action. I just threw them on just like the laser. Basically I put the scope on to shoot groups and check the accuracy. Normally this wears a PA Micro Dot. Been eyeing the MRO.

Not bad. I would ditch the scope, laser vfg, as well. It would be a nice shooter with just the KAC irons.

Looks good.  Is that LaRue mount a little higher than a normal one?  Mine don't seem that high.

And that's the answer. It looks like you've got some thought, and quality parts in your project. Shoot it, and see how your ideas pan out. You can always change things down the road.

You're always going to hear "I'd change this", but in the end you only have to satisfy you.

OP, only you can decide if it's a perfect set-up for you. Yes, you have a nice rifle! If you are asking us about what it may be missing or what needs to come off then ok. If it were mine; I'd lose the VFG for sure as well as the scope and mounts! That will lighten it up considerably. Second, I'd ditch the laser as well. Lastly, I'd lose the Magpul BAD. Then you would have a relatively lightweight and very solid close quarters rifle that is light and wielding! If you want something with a scope and a laser then build a Recce or a precision rifle. You did go with quality gear on this one. Do the same with your Recce or precision rifle! Either way, good job!

I don't get it, you say you've been working on the gun for six months and are happy with it for now. Then you go onto say " I just threw them on for now" ( laser and optic+ mount). You either like it or you don't, not at all trying to be a dick, just curious which it is? BTW it is a very nice rifle!

My observation is that you have the *best* irons out there and a weird scope.  I would just run irons.  Save a ton of weight and better balance and working on irons skills is always good!

Looks like a quality rifle though.

I echo this sentiment. I'd like to see it with just the irons and PA Micro.
