I want a 14.5" M4 rifle. Do I a) Buy a Colt 6920 and be happy   b)Buy an LMT 14.5" M4 upper to go on my PWA lower   c)Buy a complete CMMG 14.5" M4 carbine  I do realize the 14.5" barrel must have a Phantom FH blind pinned and silver soldered on to avoid violation of NFA.  I do want a lightweight under handguards profilr barrel.  HELP!!

If you really want the 14.5 you wont be happy with the 6920. If I were you I would go with CMMG.

Have you looked at the LE6921? It has a 14.5 barrel.

Colt 6920.  I tried to fight the feeling but could not.  It's coming soon.  Buy one you'll like it.

What is the LE6921?

The LE6921 is a 14.5" bbl w/ an A2 FH. It must be registered as a SBR.

I'd say buy the 14.5" upper of your choice, have the FH pinned on, and throw it on the lower of your choice. It will be cheaper because you won't have to pay the 11% excise tax on a complete rifle (like the CMMG rifle you mentioned).

How does the 16" sound like what he wants? Since he specifically states he wants a 14.5".

Another option but I think the 11% tax is worth paying for the lifetime warranty the complete rifle offers.

Buy the LE6920, send the upper to ADCO, have the barrel cut down to 14.7(?) inches and have the A2 flash hider permantly installed.

It'll be a nice compact (as possible without the $200.00 SBR tax) rifle.

True.

I'm only really familiar with RRA's warranty.

Lifetime on a complete upper, lifetime on a complete lower, and lifetime on a complete rifle.

Who knows what Colt or CMMG is like for warrantees on assembly's.

CMMG has a 14.7" barrel with a permanent A2.

Might be worth considering as well - it's a nice look.
