None of the shops around here carry the AR grip screw, and it didn't come with First Samco grip I bought.  I would like to get the gun togather tomorrow, so I was going to go to a hardware store and buy the screw.  I need to know how long the screw is, and correct me if I'm wrong.  I believe that the thread is 1/20.   I wonder if harware stores carry allen head srew? hinking.gif

I've used a button head screw about 1" long and I believe the threads are 1/4 x 28.

+1  they're SOOO much easier to screw in than a slotted screw,  sometimes it drives me nuts because I can't get a slotted screw to start in the thread within the small space on the inside of the grip.

I went to the Home Depot and they didn't have this screw in ANY set-up.  They had "coarse threaded" screws, but just about NO "fine threaded" ones like these.........sighs, what to do?

It runs up into the lower with no real effort. Cabinet tip. Bright and shiny.

i just went  to Ace hardware,  I cant believe that home depot didn't have any...?  The one from ace is an allen head also.  Got it for .39 cents...  what a dealhinggood luck...

yeh home dpot is more of a "home improvement store" than a hardware store
ace does have a good selection of bolts/nuts both metric and standard thread,they're the closest thing to a real hardware store left, except for the last few mom & pop neighborhood stores

I hope you found a replacement screw.

I had to dig around to find the allen bit attachment for my 1/4" ratchet and extension bar (I didn't have a long T-handle Allen wrench) but it worked fine.

My pistol grip never comes off the lower receiver though.
