I re-profiled the barrel, had it re-parked....added a M4 stock (I did like the other one too, but decided to go back to the M4) I added a YHM specter length handguard system with some TDI stuff.....and added the folding Iron sights....So far I like it.

AR47!? tell me more! is it accurate as an ar15 but with the power of 7.62/39? how much do they run for?

I had my dealer get the lower here:

AR47

I also had them do the machining to my upper and my bolt carrier. They carrier needs to have larger grooves where it rided over the magazine feed lips. The upper needs to be openned up for the wider magazine to fit.

I chose a DPMS barrel and Low Rider upper because they are alot beefer then a standard upper, with the mods done to it, I was told that the walls on a standard upper get VERY thin.

All I ever shoot through it is Wolf....because it's cheap of course. I haven't put it on paper, but plinking rocks, pop cans, chuncks of dirt, etc..from 25-75 yards...it's deadly. Seriously, if you put the red reticle on it....you hit it.

It runs standard metal AK mags and you can use Bulgy waffles (my favorite) with a little dremmel work to the mags. This thing runs 100%....I have never had a AR style rifle that ran this perfect. All my AR's run good, but NEVER a hitch with this thing.

I love it! Now I have to get out and shoot it more with it's new "clothes" on.

They were up earlier....my host site will be back up soon...I hope. Sorry.

Not my dealer..."Them" the place that he ordered the lower from...the place on the website did the gunsmithing work....sorry if that wasn't very clear.

I think the lower was $275 cost, but can't remember for sure, it was a couple years back. The machine work was $75 total.

$275-$325 is alot for a stripped lower, but the concept of using AK mags in an AR 7.62 x 39 was worth it to me....I guess.

HK DUDE, how much did the whole rifle cost?

[#19]
I built it...ordered parts and assembled it, I should say.

Let me think.....It must be around $1200, $1500ish with EOtech.......

$275 lower, $75 mod work, $65 LPK, $75 stock, $450 upper, $185 handguard kit (with front sight and gas block), $75 rear sight, $25 grip, $325 EO tech.

A lot now that I have to add it up...haha.

I would have had a couple extra parts to sell like original gas block, grip, handguards, etc....so you can factor a small anout of cash back in.

Stupid question: Can you use different mags with your weapon?  If so, I would think that a steel one would look better.  The rifle itself looks great.  Dont mean to be critical, just dont like those types of mags.

Yes you can. That's funny, because I love the Bulgarian waffle mags....obviously different strokes...etc.

It is easier too, because you have to do a little dremmel work to the waffles to make them fit, they are just a hair too wide at the top. The steel 30rd and 20rd mags work great with no mods at all. I do really like the look with a 20rd steel mag in place. Drums work too, but I have never tried them.

I'm thinking about selling mine.  Just toying with idea mind you.

I NEVER sell my guns but I just don't shoot mine very much and when I do take it out, everyone wants to shoot it so I usually only get to run a mag or 2.  I have a local bud who is considering picking up a RDIAS and he is eyeballing it pretty hard.

If any of you are really interested, I might start thinking a little harder.

Rickinvegas,

I remember older threads with your AR47....I think you inspired me to buy/build one.

Don't sell it....it's unique

I love the look of the 20's too.  I need to take a pic of that and post it.

As for the drums................they are the badassest of them all!!!!!

Yeah, I hear ya about not selling it.  The ONLY reason I did one was because of the uniQ factor.  Like I said, I usually NEVER sell my guns and I don't need the cash.  I just see it sitting in the safe while I beat the shit out of my other guns.

BTW, Very cool weapon you got there!!  Good Job.
