This is one of the happiest days of my life.  I sold my AR so that I could buy a shiny new LE 6920.  This is freakin awesome!  I didn't think I'd ever get one.

I just love how the serial number starts with leo...

YAY!!

Now for the question.  Do I open the accessories packet?

Any suggestion for how I should go about framing the box??  I think it would look good in the living room.

Ok, I must confess, I was never as excited as you even when the LE portion meant something.

Open everything and go shoot your AR.

ETA-  Then post some pictures of it nice and filthy!

DON'T EVEN OPEN THE BOX!!!

Colt's aren't meant to be used or even fondled.

Remember, the 1st shot will lower the value by hundreds!

Just shrink wrap it, gently place it on the top  shelf of the closest, and leave it.

Congratulations EV!

The accessory packet should be opened. I'll never sell any of my ARs (Colts or otherwise) unless a loved one needed cash for a medical emergency or something.

My accessory packets not only were opened, but the empty bags were thrown away-along with the boxes

To be honest though, I do save the boxes typically for a couple thousand rounds-just in case a factory defect would facilitate a warranty repair.

A Colt LE6920 is made to be driven hard and put away wet. Don't baby the thing-shoot the ever loving snot out of it. If you can't light a cigarette off the barrel then it isn't hot enough.

I don't think it would be possible for me to agree more.

Its a good weapon, but it is made to be used, not hidden away in a closet or safe.

I got my 6450 and 2 days later I burned thru 300+ rounds at the range. I have a couple of 6920s still in the box but thats only because I am busy playing around with the other ones and I am keeping those "just in case". Besides, for what I paid for them, I will always be able to get it back out. They also make really good trading pieces.

open the accessory packet up, shoot it, draw on the box and use it for a target,

sounds to me like you wont be selling it anyway

You got that right.  The only thing I would ever sell or trade my 6920 for is...no wait a minute there isn't anything.  have

Thanks everybod for sharing in my joy on this glorious day!  Haha.

Colt LE 6920.  The geniune article.  Doesn't do anything that a bushmaster won't, but to me it is just the shiznit.

Why the hell would you buy a Colt and put up with all their BS if you aren't going to treat it like a gun?

Shoot the damn thing, clean it, then shoot it some more.

When you're done with it, clean it.

Then get it out and shoot it.

Throw the box away, it's a piece of cardboard.

Don't build an alter for it, shoot the fucker...

Thanks for all of the congrats.  I am pretty stoked.  Don't worry, I will be shooting the shit out of it.  It will be a very well maintained weapon though!  I am going to save the box.  I probably will open the accessories packet but I am going to buy a disposible camera and take a bunch of pictures first.  This is a day that I will not forget!

I took pics of mine when I got 'em.  Save the boxes too, might need it if you ever sell it and have to ship it.  I just grabbed the mags from the accessory pouch, left the cheapie cleaning rod and sling in the bag.
Read the instruction book too, there's always something you might learn.

Here's my baby pics, twins!

Sweet pics hink
WTF!  I guess you have to have a certain amount of taste in firearms to appreciate the difference between a 6920 and the rest.  She loves to shoot my glocks though.  I guess she doesn't get to shoot the 6920 yet.

Consecutively numbered pair?

Why isn't there a "green with envy" emoticon?

My only claim to fame is that my LE6920 came with 30 rounders. Since mine was built 09/04 though it shipped with a half moon carrier, rather than a proper M16 carrier

Oh well, you can't have everything I guess.

This is why I don't buy Colt and sold all the ones I had. To much fear of ruining something that shouldn't be so hard pressed to be sought after. Shelf the Colt, get an LMT.

Yeah, consequetive pair  Made September 4, 2004 I think, have the half moon bolt carriers.
I'm ragging one out and the other one's still NIB for now, bought it as an investment, but even though the price dropped down it's hard to part with any of the twins.

ETA: mine came with 20 rounders.   You can peek at http://tacoma4x4.no-ip.com/LE6920 for other pics if you all want

Get another one to put up, un-opened, and unadulterated.
