Thanks, Cold.  Another upper I need.

I'll just add it to "the list".

Another great hunting excursion.  I have gotten a few deer in my days but I hope that someday a nice buck like that is "everyday" to me!  Dang Cold, don't get all "bored" on us now!

Red Falcon, I believe that very upper could be yours if you wanted it!

Wander over to the 458socomforums site and look around...you'll know where to look

Well, you put food on the table!

But what exactly were you aiming for?

Nice kill!
I know that you are a 458 man, but sounds like the 450 has found a place in your heart.  Or at the very least the hearts of some game you have taken.

Nice deer...thanks for sharing.

Looks like a center mass shot with the 450 might do most of the field dressing for you...

On the move... and by the time I got on him, all I had was that chance, front 1/3 was into the treeline. Sureshot375 was with me, he can vouch, it was actually a pretty sweet shot according to him. I just put the crosshairs on the top 1/3rd of the body I had in view uncovered and called it a day.

Well, that why I always argue that one should be "overgunned" for the game one is hunting. I know you agree with me on that. Perfect example of when a lesser caliber may have resulted in either no dead deer or a wounded deer.

Hope it went as well tonight.

I'm going to bed and dreaming of hunting.

We had only been in the stand about ten minutes. The deer stepped out on my side of the blind so I spotted him first.  I knew right away it was a shooter buck for the area, but there was no time for binos to get a closer look to be sure.  The buck started walking towards us down the power line cut as cold got his gun up.  We thought he might come in closer, or at least turn to give a broadside shot.  In stead he turned quickly and headed into some thick stuff.  Cold got the shot off just before the buck disappeared.  The whole thing happened fast, probably fifteen seconds from the time i first saw the deer to the shot.  If there had been a second of hesitation that deer would have been long gone.   Cold did some damn fine shooting.

Very nice buck!  I'd have shot him.  Probably wont even get to see a decent one this year for gun season with all the corn still on the fields up here.  Keep up the good hunting!  You have obviously been quite busy and skilled at it recently!

Nice

I really think the big bore rounds are nearly perfect for hunting. They do suffer from trajectory sag but damn they hit hard. Nice clean wound and nothing stops them.

I do not know what is worse, that you shot that deer or that you posted pictures of it.

Why don't you join the human race and get your venison from the grocery store like they do in New York and LA.

At least it is free range.

All joking aside, nice one.

Nice 8pntr there Cold. That is about the same size that we have up here in the heart of the Catskill mtns in NY.  The 250grain SST is devastating for sure.

Cold, nice 4 x 4.  That's what us westerners call them.

Well, being from Texas and having hunted the West extensively I've always understood the difference to have been species.

Doesn't matter really.

I realize he was jesting.

I don't think he was kidding.  That's the way they count the points for deer here in Nebraska.
