Hey everyone,
A long time ago, there was a thread about thumb-hanger grips, and how they enabled us post-ban owners to add an evil feature. (can't find it anymore)
However, as I remember, No one had a picture of one installed, nor did anyone ever hold one.
Shoot me a couple of links with sites I can order them from, and I might get one soon. And, if I do, I'll post pics and range reports.
Thanks

**edited to note "holy crap" that thing's expensive!

I know there's another one floating around out there.

wait wait wait!

you mean that this grip entitles us to ONE more evil feature?

we can slap folding\collapsable stocks if we throw that thingie  on an AR?

Yep, it’s NOT a pistol grip.

It sure seems worth it to put that thing on.  If you have a forward grip, than it would be easy to control.  You could probably make one if you have access to a machine shop.

I don't know if its just me, but how the hell do you hold the thing??

I dont know if I could shoot with it, but if I get frustrated trying, I could always use it as a coathook.

Might as well make your evil feature a bayonet because that monstrosity looks about worthless for shooting...

I am the guy that has the Gogogadgets.net vertical grip. This thing works, and works well. I posted pixs a long time ago, and will have to take some more. Ive had the grip for almost a year now, and am very comfortable with it. It does thake a bit to get used to, but now, my hand naturally forms to it.
Its on my POST-ban RRA. Standard A2 stock, 16" SS 1in8 barrel THREADED with tactical vortex, stock fire control parts with JP yellow spring. FT with EOtech holosight (bushnell).
Plus, it does come with the ATF letter.

You do realize you just admited, on a public forum, that you are in violation of a Federal Law.

That Vortex is 22mm in diameter.  That means it not only counts as a flash supressor, but as a grenade launcher as well - 2 evil parts.  You're over your quota.

Fix the Vortex or find something else to add.

Forest, did not know that about the Vortex. What FH can be added so not to be considered a grenade launcher. The one I am talking about does not have the ring around it for the BFA attachment. Its not the Smith G6 Tactical.

All of them are 22mm in diameter as far as I know.

You best bet it to bring it to a 'smith and weld up some rings or lines on the outside to bring the diameter over 23mm (note the FS can't be 22mm +/- 1mm so if its over 23mm you're clear).

I remember one poster did that with the Levang Compensator to get it over the 22 +/-1mm requirement.  Shouldn't cost much.

Aimless, you are correct. It is in international waters as we speak. I have a good gunsmith to take it to overseas when I meet up with the rifle. Thanx Forest for the legal advice. See...the laws are so ever changing, you don't know when your complying or not !!!

Yeah its one of those sneaky things.  Really funny since we (the US military) doesn't use them as best I can tell.

he left off the part about it being stored on his yacht in international waters.

If it's a US flagged vessel, it doesn't matter, the coasties can still get ya.

What exactly is the deal with the 22mm rule?

Also does adding the horizontal grip open the chance to add a sound suppreser?  Arent Flash hiders, threaded barrels, and sound suppresers in the same category for one "EVIL!!" feature?

There is a grenade that can be fitted and fired from a 22mm flash hider. Therefore, it's a grenade launcher.

I guess they consider a flash hider of 22mm diameter as a grenade launcher, so off to the gunsmith goes my Vortex. And yes, you can add a suppressor to it legally since the threaded barrel/suppressor/flash hider combo is one bad item.

Is the phantom flash suppreser also 22mm?

I like the XM one better...

HG-608 Horizontal grip $45.00

I like their rifles too...no buffer tube, so true folding stock is possible. But they only sell when they have a 200 rifle order..quite unrealistic. Their uppers are sweeeet though...

How do you hold that grip?

[#26]
So is sawing off a normal grip so it does not pass the trigger guard like zmweapons' ok to do according to big brother?  Or is there a special requirement requiring that loop at the rear.
