Thermolds (Canadian-made) 10. Orlites ------------------------------------- [b]Don't Waste Your Money[/b] 99. All of the other aftermarket crap mags, including USA, Triple K, Western Metal, Victor, Millet, ProMag, RamLine, and Eagle. -Troy |

Orlites -Troy Did you order everything by preference or did you simply list things at random according to your hierarchical tiers. I assume you listed meticulously, from greatest to least in all tiers, but I am confused about Tier II. The mag FAQ (IMHO) gives a favorable report to USA Thermolds, and to Orlites, but seems to imply that Canadian Thermolds were inferior due to a substandard material which was substitured for the more expensive Zytel which in turn, caused a potential for melting. Is it your contention then, that the "inferior" Canadian Thermolds are still superior to Orlites? If so/not, could you clarify your position? Thanks. |

The FAQ you're referring to is a very old version, and my revised version (which was lost due to a problem with a web host, and I am STILL trying to work on a replacement) reflected the list as I show it here. Canadian Thermolds are, IMO, slightly better than Orlites. I personally would only use 2nd Tier mags for range use, and never for duty. -Troy |
