Anyone tried the newly released IMI 223A.
Imported from IMI 55gr. FMJBT at 3100fps.
Advertised price is $175.00 delivered.
Seems like a good price for quality IMI ammo.
Should I pay a little extra for Federal XM193?

Just to clarify, if you're referring to the IMI .223 from Widener's, the price is $175 + shipping - "Prices plus shipping charges."

I've had several good range sessions with the IMI from Widener's.   Fed/fired/extracted perfectly in four or five weapons so far.  Chrony results from Lot 264/D have been very uniform prompting me to order another 2K this evening.  My tired old eyes are getting under an inch for 5 rounds at 50 yards, under 4 or 5 inches at 200 yards.

The IMI .223 is what I'll be shooting for the next year or so, at least until Winchester Q3131A availability improves.

Paladin

IMI 223 chronied 3048 in a 20 inch 1/7 Colt,  3083 in a 20 inch 1/12, and 3061 in another 1/12 rifle.  10 shots used for each average.

After calculating shipping charges, it appears that XM193 would be about $22 more than this IMI. Do you think it is worth the extra $22? I don't stockpile that much ammo, but would probably like to use 1,000 rounds of the next ammo I buy to put into storage. Should I just pony up the extra $22?

IMI is good ammo, I wouldn't hesitate to order some if I needed it, and that's a good price.

Purchased 2K of this ammo a short while ago. Haven't had the time to shoot any yet, but it should be perfect for range use.
I'm saving the XM193 I have.

That's a fairly ignorant comment.  Frankly i find it offensive.

Do unarmed, socio-economic attacks count when we discuss the nation's southern border?have
Also used 50 rds of British RORG 55 gr., and 20 rds of Winchester White box 45 gr Varmint load, as well as 30 rds of wolf 55gr fmj polymer coated.

All ammo functioned fine.  Also interestingly all loads printed at nearly the same POI at 100yds.

The Winchester Varmint load tightened up the grouping a bit, coming in at about 1.5"  average for five shot groups.

Sorry, was trying to subtly bring things back to ammo discussion.
The opening zinger was misplaced
