Is it wise to cut off the delta ring or to disassemble the rifle and then take off the delta ring for installing this rail system? It seems that cutting it off would save lots of time and effort, but are there any downsides to doing this? If anyone has tips on how to install the arms sir #45m please post them or email jhabs316@hotmail.com

Cut it off. It's pretty easy, and the only downside is you'll need to remove the flash suppressor and FSB to reinstall a new one (not that hard, but you do need a few tools and a vise). If your flash suppressor is pinned/welded on, cutting of the delta ring is your only viable option.

Before you cut, remove the gas tube (just punch out the roll pin in the FSB) and put something protective (heavy cloth or towels) on the barrel and receiver. Cut at 12 and 6 o-clock positions, then simply remove the delta ring. You'll also need to cut the spring inside the delta ring at these same positions.

Take your time and WEAR EYE PROTECTION.

Have fun - sounds like you're taking the first steps down the slippery slope of EBR mods!
