Hi, I am new here, been looking and learning for a while. I have a small gun collection, including a preban colt ar. I am about to expand my collection since the AWB sunset. I want to get a FFL. How difficult is it to get one these days? Do you have to have a storefront business? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Getting a FFL to expand your collection is a no-no...

I am sorry for the confusion, but i was not wanting the FFL just personal use. I would like to be able to help my friends out with tranfers and sales. I am not wanting to get rich by selling guns. I have a decent paying job. Just something I always wanted to do.

Not to say you can't do it...many people do.

But you may find yourself without the decent job once your employer finds out you are selling weapons.

Ask me how I know.

Can you please inform me? I live in a very rural area in NC, on a large farm. Guns and hunting are a part of life here. I wouldn't mix my job with my activities concering a dealer license. Thanks for any help.

These rules you listed must be new, because I didnt have to do anything like that. I have heard that they are now requiring an actual "storefront" but when I applied that was not the case. I applied 2 years ago....

some of you guys are making it sound like FFL holders can't buy guns for themselves, which is obviously not true.
