There is a current thread discussing the ARMS/QRP repeat zero, but how solid is this setup?

Will this also work with the larger M4 Handguards?

I had the same set-up on an A2 Dissipator and it was rock-solid with no movement whatsoever. As for returning to zero after removal and reinstallation, I have no idea. I would like to believe that it would. I also do not know if it will clear M4 handguards. Sorry.

Hmmm...

This setup is fine, but...

I'd recommend ARMS 22M68 and ARMS 39.

I called the A.R.M.S. tech guys.  They are great.

You can use the A.R.M.S. #39 on a carbine with the lower M4 grip.  Put a smaller carbine grip on top.  (Some U.S. military units are doing this.)  The bottom M4 grip is the only thing you touch.  The double heat shields still work and the upper grip with NO or Single heat shield and will dissipate heat better than the M4 grips.  The double M4 heat shields keep the heat in more than the carbine shields. There is only a very small lip between the M4 and Carbine grip.

I use them on my 20" rifles.  Personally, I do not completely field strip my rifle everytime I come back from the range.  I might remove the sight and QRP, but the gooseneck stays put.  So far not a problem.  Some extremely minor adjustments the next time at the range, but hey, I don't shoot the same ammo all the time.

Go with the ARMS #39 and the #22M68 throw lever ring.

Rotate your front cover around to 7 o'clock or 5 o'clock (not sure about your light's position) and it'll be well out of your line of sight.  You may have to flex the cover to open it, but the cover is designed to flex.

How's the heat build up on this handguard?

My setup is very similar, only I use the Quick Release mount.

Chuck,
I have mounted my aimpoint as far as possible to the front irons ( which i prefer ) and the front cover will not open correctly at the 6 position.

As for the handguards, no problem w/ heat at all. I shoot that gun untill that barrel is hotter than HELL (have the burn scars to prove) and the the FIRSH w/ the KAC panels get just a bit warm.

I have the QRP and Gooseneck, brand new for sale.  Never used or mounted.  I bought the mounts before the optic and then chose a different optic.  I can save you $$$$$$.  E mail me and I will give a price.
Later and happy shooting.
