You really would not want flash in your line of sight. I have my slots at 10, 2, 4, 6, and 8 o'clock.

I dont know how the line of sight thing is such a big deal, I never was able to see anything over the front sight base anyway.

Thanks for the help..I installed it so that there was a solid part at exactly 12:00, but that also put a vent at 6:00. But I guess that is the price you pay for the phantom.
I do have one other question, why does the A2 birdcage have a vent at the 12:00 position if it matters so much? |

Regardless of whether the bottom slots are at 4, 6, 8 or 5 & 7, they will still kick up dust in the prone position. The design of the A2 flash hider was twofold, a flash hider and a compensator with the added bonus of not kicking up dust in the prone position because the bottom half is closed. That is why you have 5 vents clustered on the top half. There is no other way to do it. |
