Is there a set round limit or do you clean after every use?

Yes. For me the round count is 1.

I also break down any weapon that haven't been shot in the last 6 months or so and clean those to.

I clean mine after every session..no reason not to except laziness. Ever notice how nice your car runs right after it's detailed????

Twice per year whether it needs it or not unless it pukes prior.

Yes, I'm lazy.

No, you just enjoy spending your time shooting(and doing other things) more then cleaning.

I clean all of my firearms after every range trip. I clean/lube my carry handgun (1911) once a week, regardless of whether or not I've fired it.

I have found that some of my target rifles perform a lot better if I do not clean them every time. When it gets really dirty the accuracy starts to suffer and I clean it then.

I forgot to mention, I pretty much never clean the bore on my .22LR guns. They're way more accurate if I just clean the action but leave the bore alone.

After every use.

Cleaning for me is just as enjoyable as shooting, and is part of the responsibility of owning firearms.

+1

You're correct sir: I usually only shoot 2 out of the 3 really cool local matches. Average round count is 60-120 for each match. Unfortunately, free time and $ammo$ keep me from shooting more.

Sadly i think that happens to alot of people in the shooting hobby these days.

I plan to clean after every trip for the first 500 or so rounds. Then I can slack off to cleaning every other time. But I don't like having dirty weapons and do find cleaning my rifles enjoyable. So I am sure it will still be after every range trip.

Field strip, clean, and inspect after every trip to the range. The only time I put a firearm away dirty is if I know I will be using it again that week.

When I am out camping for 5 days or so, a bore snake soaked with lube of choice and a good douche on the action parts is all I use at the end of each day. Even with corrosive ammo in some of the older rifles. When I get back, I clean each weapon thoroughly as soon as I can after unpacking.

Should'nt we say, how many years in between cleaning do you.
