I got some lower parts from RRA today, and my order was a little screwed up. I am going to call them tomorrow and want to be sure what I have is correct.

The buffer spring seems a little long for the CAR buffer tube, which is missing, so I can't try it. Does anyone have a measurement for A2 and CAR buffer springs?

Thank you, so much! The one I have is 11 1/4. Must be a CAR.

You can't reliably measure a spring by length.  Springs will shorten over time, so the only good method to check a spring is my measuring the amount of force required to compress it.  In short, there's not really any way to tell which spring you have just by looking at it.

The measurements I gave were from new unused springs.
