How do you measure barrel lenght?
I got an XM177 type barrel from a member here on the boards  and i set it up next to my M4 and it is a little shorter and i wanted to know how to measure it. I would guess the XM177 barrel is right at 16" and my M4 is most likly a little longer ( I hope )
Thanks for any help E3

With the bolt closed, stick something down the barrel until it seats against the closed bolt (maybe a cleaning rod).  Then mark where the rod intersects with the end of the barrel (muzzle) and/or flash suppressor if permanently attached.

I believe this is "legally" valid means of getting the correct measurement.
