More specficaly on a DPMS? Is it marked with DPMS somewhere?

nope.  You can probably tell from the finish as they use a teflon coating which is different from other AR makes.  But other than that, no real sure ways of telling.

The only reliable markings are Colt (usually), Armalite (usually) and newer RRAs which have the RRA logo laser etched in them.  Everything else is simply a crap shoot.

just got pictures of this upper, looks like right behind the flash hider on the bottom side of the barrel it is makred DPMS Cal then the pic is to blury to see the rest.
