Lot 29. No other mark on box that gives age.

My lot#100 has a 04 stamped

LC=Lake City
02=Year Casing was made

OK mine has the 02 stamp so it was made in 2002. What month? for lot 29? thanks

Lot is the # for what lot was made or batch #. No way of knowing what month, why do you ask? This ammo will out last you in the right climate.

I guess that cutting it in half and counting the rings would be the wrong answer?

I have plenty of XM193 (Lot 6) dates '00 to '01, but it is packed in white boxes, not the usual brown. Any significant difference between them?

I "think" the white box stuff was around before the brown box stuff.

I think you might be right. But, if it has been shot (as M855) and reloaded since '00, unless it was stored improperly it should be OK.
