Just curious to see what is normal accuracy for a 14.5" barreled upper at 100 meters- honestly. I have one that yesterday was getting about 1.2-1.5" groups at around 80 meters. I do have an MI rail system on the gun that is not free floated nor do I really want to go free floated but what kind of groups would be normal because this would be roughly a 1.75-2" group rifle at 100 meters. This was shooting off a bench but using open sights. I have grouped much better but on my 20" models of course.

Also my friend said something about sighting in on a 12" target at 36 meters to have all ranges accurate within a few inches for that rifle- said the Marine's sight in this way then go out to 500. If I remember in the Army we only went out to 300.  

I was shooting Wolf initially, but switched to Adcom 62gr 5.56NATO, M855 when I got the best groups.  

I can hit 4MOA at 200 yards wiht my Aimpoint ML2....I have no ambition to get my M4gery better than that.

I can't answer your original question, but I do want to make the following personal observation.  I have used an Aimpoint and an EoTech.  While both sights are fast, I have found that I can shoot tighter groups with iron sights at 50 yds and greater.  If you want speed, use the dot.  If you want precision, switch to irons.  I have hit man sized steel at 525 yds using a 14.5" and Aimpoint, but it required some guestimated holdover and the 2nd shot before I hit it.  This was trying to use the Aimpoint, before I discovered the little accuracy tidbit.

It really depends on alot of things, ammo, shooter, etc...  you should get 1"-2" pretty easy.

So 2" groups is normal I guess.  Suprised me as I was getting the same groups with my 5.56 AK and wanted to make sure my AR wasn't off or something. I guess 5.56 is really accurate in any weapon system overall- plus I wasn't using match ammo, just Wolf and Adcom stuff.  

An M4gery with decent glass and ammo should do pretty well. Anything more than 1.5" and I'd be unimpressed.

All that really counts is minute of man though. However, I shoot more targets than people so my standards are slightly biased.

You are not shooting match ammo.  Your results are to be expected.

I can get 3/4" at 100 yards with Blue Box BT and 4x scope on a 16.1" LE6920 all day long!!!

My 15 inch barrel 1/9 doesnt group M193 very well but Santa barbra 1inch groups

But for M193 and M855/SS109 2 inch is fine for a Rack grade M4
