FPD has black nickle plated cases to prevent corrosion. Otherwise exactly the same except for the 5.56x45 T2, which there is no FPD equivalent.

loaded exactly the same except the cases and the no 5.56 on FPD but the .223 is the same

5.56 NATO TAP uses the T2 bullet, not the regular BTHP w/ cannelure that the .223 TAP and FPD use.

Asked Hornady the same thing about a month ago...

They said what has already been said.  They are loaded exactly the same.  According to Hornady they load the LE TAP in brass so they can tell it apart from the FPD and thus not charge tax.
