I saw one at a gunshow in Nashville this past weekend. Believe me, I had to do a double-take. It was the first one I've seen or heard of.

I've never heard of them with ARs.

I wonder if they are just having their name stamped on the side....

There was a thread about Hi-Standard selling ARs awhile ago. never seen one myself. Kind of a crowded marketplace to get into.

Please define "awhile ago". Are we talking the '60s? 70s? 90s?

I remember hearing something too. Maybe from SHOT Show? We need pics... and metallurgical reports.

I held one this weekend. Seemed well made enough. I cant say I saw anything negative in the fit and finish

I find it odd they havent publicized this at all. The website for High Standard doesnt even have anything on there about them. The one i saw did seem pretty nice especially for 799.00, I really would love to see a range report on one of these guys.

How did it compare to the Sabre Defence model?

ETA:  They also have a pretty nice 1911 www.impactguns.com/store/HSTX1911.html.

I looked at one of these at a local store today. The owner said that High standard ARs have forged upper an lower receivers. Not sure about the other questions tho

Go to www.lipseys.com

Someone related to the owner of this company bought the rights to the High Standard name, then contracted with a certain parts distributor, and has someone build them in Texas. They then ship them to the distributor named above.

Don't ask
